This year, LoopLabb is also a proud main sponsor of the Hebban Debut Prize 2024, the incentive prize for debuting authors organized since 2016 by Leerscommunity Hebban.nl.

The Hebban Debut Prize

The Hebban Debut Prize focuses on Dutch -language literary fiction and is the only jury prize in the Netherlands and Flanders with a great influence of readers. A readers' jury consisting of more than a hundred readers determines the shortlist from a long list of fifteen books. A professional jury consisting of booksellers, library specialists and editors of Hebban chooses the best debut from the shortlist of five titles. The winner will receive an award, an amount of € 2,500 and a marketing campaign on Hebban.nl from the same value.

Joint mission

Looplabb and Hebban share a joint mission: let readers read more and with more pleasure. And with suitable reading glasses, a nice book is even better to read. LoopLabb is a reading glasses brand for book lovers. For example, all frames bear the name of a classic work from the literature, such as LOLITA, PAPILLON, FAUST, THE GEORGE of MOBY. As the main sponsor of the prize, LoopLabb will profile itself more clearly as a partner in the reading promotion, including by Hebban book tips in her newsletters.

Looplabb founder Maarten Kooijman will take a seat in the professional jury for the second time. "Through the collaboration with Hebban we are making our aim of making readers for readers," says Looplabb founder Maarten Kooijman. "But I am also an avid book reader. And I think reading promotion is important. I have two young daughters: if I don't pay attention, they are just behind the screen. I try to motivate them to read, whether it's the Donald Duck, or a horse magazine or a children's book. Reading - whatever - is good for their development and their vocabulary. I really thought it was an enrichment to read in the professional jury last year. The book by winner Koen Caris was so incredibly impressive.
